Message	service manual for guidance. The pinion bearing pre-load will be affected when you remove and replace the nut that holds the companion flange. A new crush sleeve inside the differential will be required to establish the correct pre-load on the pinion bearings. This is not a quick remove & replace job on the R230 diff.
